North East of India consists of eight States: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. These eight States are joined to the rest of the country by a 37 Kms strip of land called the Siliguri Corridor or the "Chicken Neck"; the Region has borders with Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Myanmar, and Nepal.
The Siliguri Corridor was created in 1947 after the partition of Bengal between India and Pakistan (former state of East Bengal, now independent Bangladesh).
Chicken Neck publications strive to be a bridge for creating better understanding between the people living in this Region and the rest of our country.
